A dynamic new brand of boutique hotels, set to bring a touch of contemporary city dash to Britain’s traditional shire towns, restoring a little of the fashion-forward flair for which they were noted in their heyday.
Digby&Friends is unashamedly romantic and unswervingly well-mannered. The brand’s ‘Shire Style’ concept will be personality driven and promises to deliver a stimulating blend of urbane glamour with county comforts and grace.
Kingham Leigh is currently partnering with Setha Management to develop the flagship property for the brand; an innovative and aspirational luxury hotel for the thriving Oxfordshire market town of Chipping Norton.
Offering locals and visitors—both domestic and international—a much needed switch up from minimalism, boho and farmhouse norms, the atmosphere will be quintessentially English infused with a vivacious inflexion of European dolce vita.
Refined and classy, figurative and fun, this will be a hotel and meeting point for a cosmopolitan audience; for people that value aesthetics, style and the cultivation of life’s pleasures, whether far-flung travellers or local denizens.
The first property is a handsome Grade II listed and stone-clad building with striking internal features including two stain-glassed domes that characterise the restaurant and bar. Through sensitive refurbishment and reinforcement of distinct heritage features, this former bank will be transformed into a luxury hotel comprising 31 rooms with full service amenities.
Carefully integrated into the sloped gardens, the landscaped courtyard spaces and low-level out-buildings will create playful new bedrooms.
